Are You Like Me?

All day today I have been trying to clean my scrapbook room only to keep getting distracted!  I keep getting ideas while cleaning and end up making something else and creating a bigger mess!  I am the only one who does this??

Hey Stampers!

Here is my latest creation, I am pretty excited about this idea.  I was inspired by a card I saw on Stampin Connection created by Ann Schach.  She is a very talented lady and when I saw her card, I knew I had found the inspiration for my shadow box.  Although this is similar in certain elements, I never copy someone else's work totally.  I get inspired by certain elements of it and it sparks my own ideas.

One idea I have been pondering on is to start a home decor classes using Stampin Up products.  I have done many home decor projects in the past using scrapbook materials and thought it would be fun to do a Stampin Up Home Decor class.  My mind is buzzing with ideas!!  Let me know what you think!

Ideas - Where They Come From

Hey Stampers,

Several people have ask me where I get my ideas, and it may be from something I see in a store or in nature, or another's person's creation.  I never copy anyone's work exactly but when I see something I like, certain elements of their design sparks a new idea in me.  I watch tons of YouTube videos, surf blogs and Stampin Connection (forum for Stampin Up Demonstrators) for ideas.

I may have some element that I want to make work in a creation, like a sweet treat cup from Stampin Up.  I had these for a couple months, and I thought long and hard about a different way to make this work.  I saw a video on YouTube with a flower using a sweet treat cup on a lollipop stick by Andrea Walford, and I wanted to do something using those two elements.  A few weeks ago I thought since Easter was coming up, maybe a bunny in punch art would be a good idea.  I wrestled with that bunny for three weeks before coming up with the the finished product.  I will show you a few of my attempts...

This bunny was ok, but I still hadn't figured out how to open the back in a way that looked right.  If something doesn't look right it drives me CRAZY!!!  That drove me crazy!

The next bunny lollipop I did, I tore up so I can't show you.  LOL

Getting desperate and needing some element of success, I made this card...  while it is ok, it still wasn't on a STICK!!!

I tore up the next one too... so you can't see it either.

Finally, I had success with this Bunny Lollipop, it took me three weeks of trying to work out the design, but finally it worked and I could finally be content.

I kind of feel like this is a version of the Goldilocks story LOL! But just know that if at first you don't succeed, try try again!  I rarely am totally happy with the first card or project.  But I keep on working on it until it feels right.  Some projects or cards never make it past the first attempt.  I have a box full of them!  So don't give up!

Until Next Time!

Thank You To My Peers At Stampin Connection

Hey Stampers,

Recently I started submitting my cards, projects and videos to Stampin Connection, which is online forum for Stampin Up Demonstrators.  On Stampin Connection we can get inspiration and support from each other.  I am so amazed at the awesome talent and creativeness of all my peers.  Demonstrators rate each other's cards, projects and videos and select their favorites.  Based on this, demonstrators are put into three top 20's lists, which are top 20 demonstrators, top 20 samples of work, and top 20 videos.  I am so honored and humbled that my peers have ranked me as #1 demonstrator based on my creations that I recently submitted.  I truly can't believe it and am so surprised and feel so blessed to even have this honor for a time and it has shown me that others truly appreciate my creative efforts.  I have never been so shocked in my life!!  Thank you to my fellow Stampin Up Demonstrators for your support!

Until Next Time,
Happy Stampin!!

Update on Scrapbook Closet Redo

Hey Stampers,

We have made some progress since last I wrote regarding the closet redo in my scrapbook room and my upstairs workshop area.  Everything is still not put back together back together but I thought I would show you our progress so far.  It would be completely done but my back went out right in the middle of the redo.  That slowed me down a bit but I am a tenacious lady and when I get something in mind not even a bad back can stop me completely.   Plus my husband had a bit of a meltdown late Sunday afternoon when the desktop got wedged into the closet because it was a tad to big and we like to never got it out again LOL.  I laughed then too but he didn't see the humor in the situation at all.  He was laying on the floor of the closet trying to kick it out of it's wedged position.  Half an inch can make a huge difference in whether it will fit or not.  I seriously thought about taking a photo to share but decided it might not go over too well LOL.  I think it would have made for a hilarious show for "Renovation Realities" on DIY Network.  It never goes as easily as I see it going in my mind's eye.

This is what wouldn't fit in my closet but I am happy with outcome.

There is a lot left to be done but it is coming along considering all the challenges we faced!  My husband told me it was going to be while before I could talk him into another DIY project but for now I am happy.  Let me know what you think!

Until Next Time,

Closet Make Over Before Photos

Hi Stampers!

So the makeover begins!  I have to admit I got home and started putting my Ikea pieces together yesterday and started worrying.  All the pieces just didn't look right and I tried every combination and it just wasn't working.  Finally, I went to bed feeling a bit discouraged to say the least!  After all I had been writing article and getting all of you pumped up to see this amazing new closet in my scrapbook room.  Not to mention traveling 4 states to go to an Ikea!

This morning, I returned to tackle the closet and finally realized there is a solution.  As I am writing this article my hubby is at the hardware store picking up a couple other items that is going to make this work.  Not only will I have the closet of my dreams I will also have a great office space upstairs in my Stampin Up workshop area.  Yes.... I have two rooms in my home dedicated to my scrapbooking and stamping.  I am spoiled rotten LOL!  It is going to be a lot of work this week to get this pulled together by Saturday but I am going to give it my best shot.

We are getting ready to start painting the closet as soon as my hubby gets home and then we can start putting the closet together tomorrow.  Whew it is going to be alot of work but I am excited and look forward to showing you the outcome.  Here is a photo to let you know what we are starting with.  I just got finished spackling the holes (there were a lot of them) that were in the closet.  Also after I finally convinced my hubby to let me, I removed the doors to open up the area better.

I will keep posting to to show you the progress.

Until Next Time
Happy Stampin!
